Terms of Service
Effective: March 29, 2026
1. Service
memoir is an open-source CLI tool (MIT licensed) that gives AI coding tools persistent memory. The cloud service provides encrypted backup, sync, and restore of your memory files via Supabase-hosted infrastructure.
2. Accounts
You need an email address to use the cloud service. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials and encryption passphrase secure. If you lose your passphrase, we cannot recover your encrypted data.
3. Plans and Billing
- Free tier: 3 cloud backups, all CLI features
- Pro: 50 cloud backups, $15/month, billed via Stripe
You can cancel Pro at any time. No refunds for partial months.
4. Encryption
All backups are encrypted client-side with AES-256-GCM before upload. We store only the encrypted payload. You control the passphrase and are solely responsible for it.
5. What We Store
- Your encrypted backup files
- Metadata: email address, tool names, file counts, machine hostname
We do not read, analyze, or decrypt your backup contents.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Upload malware or malicious content
- Abuse rate limits or attempt to overload the service
- Use the service for anything illegal
- Reverse engineer or attack the infrastructure
7. Termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. You can delete your account at any time via memoir account delete or by emailing us.
8. Disclaimer
The CLI is open-source software provided under the MIT license. The cloud service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We are not liable for data loss, downtime, or damages arising from use of the service.
9. Changes
We may update these terms. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
